Yes, it is possible, but the procedure is indeed confusing, and even we tax professionals, myself included, have made incorrect statements.It sounds like you have already filed your 2023 tax return.

So I've been doing my own taxes in Turbotax for 20 years now (I only own 2 rental properties but both were BRRRs), and I finally got stuck on something and went to a CPA 2 years ago, and he reviewed my past 5 years of returns and pointed out that I had made multiple mistakes (incorrectly categorizing repairs vs capex, calculating basis and therefore depreciation wrong, failing to realize that certain expenses for a home converted to a rental property start being deductible the day the property was placed in service vs actually occupied, the list goes on). 

These all lead to incorrect underwriting assumptions and kill good deals.

INCORRECT, tenants pay all, UNLESS it's a MF, then owner pays, I have extensive experience there happy to help you will any questions you may have 

The platform is full of people that give incomplete or incorrect information.

We even joked about student housing and other industry quirks.

Sometimes if there isn't an agent involved (or an agent that isn't properly engaged) the software will use incorrect assumptions due to errors in public record and available data. 

Take a break from the forums for a bit bc you're making my attempt to gain info very unpleasant whilst at the same time being confrontational, presumptuous, and incorrect.

It is designed for even PM's to go in and ask questions of other PM's about how to deal with a problem tenant or a specific situation.That being said if the question is posed in an "Investing" forum (or even general investing) then it is a perfectly acceptable answer because as stated if you are investing you are not "Land lording" and spending your time incorrectly as an investor.Just my 2 cents on the initial question posed.
