Correct me if I'm wrong but VRBO is very clunky and not very host friendly.

Occasionally I catch some cleanliness issued that I am not satisfied with which I believe is due to variability in attention to detail between people on their crew, or lack of training and familiarity with my property.I've seen mentions of the value of post cleaning pictures from hosts on other forums.

Further, I don't trust other host reviews.  

This would make a great co-hosting opportunity without worrying about making enough to cover rent.

If you haven't already, you should research the stats on Furnished Finder to see how many people are looking for a midterm rental, how many units are currently available and the configuration and prices hosts are offering.

Another way, you could connect with a host via Airbnb/ VRBO Facebook groups in the area you're searching and ask them what they do and how they handle it.
