In the event they do not get rid of the dogs, they will owe a few grand by the time they can get the AB468 compliant ESA.  

But, if the cost is fairly nominal, maybe under a couple grand, and you have no experience in real estate, including owning your own home and hiring contractors for that, then it is likely worth it.I would always start with a deep assessment of where you feel you don't have adequate knowledge.

But don't worry, in 15-20 years salary appreciation at a modest rate of 2-3% will give you an extra grand give or take while you get to look at all that property appreciation taking place as more $80K salaried workers like yourself who are told to "buy now" driving up prices from $600K to $700K to $800K, maybe even a million!

it may not be your parent… maybe it is an aunt or an uncle or a grand mother who you can educate about real estate and get them excited too?
