Its like the restaurant business... public health and safety is of concern... that is why you sometime have inspections, so they can know whats going on; are they violations that endangers the public etc... but if you are running an unlicensed restaurant out of your house, off the grid, no one knows whats going on.

@Derrek LawsonAround here, corner stores (dépanneurs) are an endangered species, but in parts of the City where there are no supermarkets close-at-hand, they do a booming business ... there is a little one across the street from one of our properties which does over $2M/year in revenue.Survey the neighbourhood, you might want to buy the building which houses the store ... and perhaps the store ... as well. ;-)
