Having said that, myself and a few local friends are donating some money as well as our time to build this house for this family.

For example, we can be especially bad with buying cheap books and leaving them everywhere...so we try to use resources like the library more often or we'll donate our excess.

Our PM company recently mentioned that they had just found this amazing software that allowed them to do national criminal and eviction searches.... transunion smart move!

If I want to make a donation of real estate to a charity I would donate it to a charitable organization. 

I am not a Realtor, but we realize that Realtors have a vested interest in helping schools and often times donate to the schools.  

I wouldn't dream of keeping an existing mattress, or getting a used one (I believe it is illegal to sell used mattresses - Goodwill, etc. will not accept donations of used mattresses for sanitary reasons, and if Goodwill isn't going to take it, I definitely am not.  

The security deposit was enough to cover the insurance deductible, though we chose to donate it to a trust set up for the tenant's young son.
