Criticizing others for their failure to do the same provides them self-justification for their confirmation bias.This is a common behavior pattern to justify many debatable decisions people make in life.

I know Gov Sununu wasn't a fan when it was hotly debated last year and given all the talk around a presidential run I doubt he'd be spending much time thinking about it now.
