I’m guessing the ski community is highly seasonal and has deep-rooted family traditions of return vacationers.

Renting as a vacation rental might work during hunting season but there really isn't much to do there that would attract vacationers in the winter.

While there are certainly no vacationers here, there are a good amount of people that use short-term rentals for contract work for 1-3 months.
