For those who are running successful Section 8 businesses out-of-state, did you start in just 1 state or if the opportunity made sense would you purchase the property regardless of the state?

Through my journey I have gathered priceless information about the markets and maintained countless of connections including contractors, investors, agents and brokers.

As long as the lender can finance in the state that you want to buy in, then work with them.

However, I'm unsure of the specific areas within these states to target.

The thing is, I will be moving out of the current state leaving myself to either self-manage or hire a PM for my property.

Mainly because of being priced out of the market around us here in NY.  

A great deal of accountants work with out of state clients.

But as someone who’s been in the trenches of real estate investing for almost 30 years, I continue to see some flaws.Some of the flaws I have witnessed are when tech-driven companies seem to lack backing from experienced underwriters or seasoned real estate professionals.

It will be very important to have both in place because of the fact I will be investing out-of-state.
