As you can see, I lose an average of 1100 a month over this house.I am wondering if a short-term rental could be a better choice for me. 

I really am not sure if I made the right call, or just the safest one.

I thought a FHA loan would be the best option but now I am second guessing my choice since interests rates might be higher.

The choice is fairly binary between convertible sofas and thin mattress sleepers. 

If you dont have a great team to work with you can lose your shirt even if the house is next door to where you live... there are lots of great areas but only a limited number of great teams so our final choice has always been team driven... saying that we look for an area where there are lots of opportunities  and rental houses available in good areas using the 2 % rule  we found this in Detroit and Toledo  more then willing to share what we do and what we have learnt over the years

After a set amount of time, you get the choice to complete the transaction (buy the house) at the agreed price or not buy the house and the owner keeps the extra amount of the rent payments. 

Real Estate is a safe, stable investment that makes you money in the long term.  

Understanding these differences can help buyers make the right choice.
