You are on a great trajectory and learning curve because you are learning from your mistakes and also preparing to move slowly instead of scaling before you are ready.

Point is the above comments there are many other more effective ways to meet the FINCEN stated objectives for tax evasion, money laundering and terrorism.   

Also, for the new move, if you don't know the city very well, I generally bias towards renting, at least for a few months.

It seems to me though your short term objective is to get the HOA to take immediate action on the roof.
