If its a well system, there is no chlorine it will last a bit longer , if its city water  you are on borrowed time 

I have a few favorite memories:Roach House: Too young to do much around the house, as the brothers and Dad pulled up the carpet, I spent hours sucking up roached in a vacuum as thousands (seriously) crawled up the wall.Dirty toilets: It's amazing what chlorine bleach and elbow grease can do.Palm Springs: Landscaping in 120 degree heat.

You may be able to rectify some of that by chlorinating your well, essentially pouring a bunch of chlorine or bleach into the well and flushing the system for a day.

I know one of the ingredients was a Pool item (ph factor, chlorine ??).

It is a chlorine dioxide gas - which is safe to breathe in the quantity this packet produces.  

If at some unlikely point in the future the tenant complains of stink, get ready to pull those planks up and scrub the mold off them, usually with chlorine bleach, before drying and reinstalling.

What about the Meter set for fresh water and a plumber to tie in the water connection to the house ( has to be pressure tested and signed off by City/County Inspector)Fire Hydrants need to be Chlorinated and tested for quality and leaks by Public works or Fire department depending on your local.  

I swing by once a month to check the salts, chlorine, AC filters and to make sure everything is working as expected and to collect rent if they prefer to give a check rather than CashApp/Venmo.

The coliform is the biggest issue, but a shock treatment with chlorine bleach is generally all you need to take care of that.

Recently in my quarterly visits I like replacing the hvac filters, run some diluted chlorine down the ac drain line, the water is very hard so I recently started running some drano down the lines.
