In Japan you can buy just about anything you would use a credit card or Yen to buy (actually that is true in many Asian countries, including Singapore where I lived for 10 years); Or back here in 'merica, we can even buy a Whopper at Burger King!

Also people that can't live in east palo alto/livermore they move to central valley, that itself is also causing price to rise. yes simply cross the bridge from Singapore to Malaysia and you will encounter the same situation.

While the country has been doing pretty well for itself, writing that its capital city is another Hong Kong or Singapore makes no sense for anybody who has any understanding of international economics.

Lastly we are not the only country with this labor issue .. look at Japan and I have spent some time in Singapore and the bridge crossings every morning from Malaysia for laborers is jammed packed.

So to answer at what cost--we're looking at completely different variables for someone like you, me, and someone doing really well in Singapore, India, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, etc.
