If you are not going to be a lender full time and do not have any experience in the space, passive investing in a fund is the way to go. 

Similarly, if the agent or broker primarily operates in the residential space, they are accustomed to having two agents.

Not every lender/agent works with investors/househackers so if a lender or an agent can recommend someone that has knowledge in the space and can help guide you through it.
