The walls were kind of torn up and all the pipes were exposed in the basement due to water leak = ceiling fall down.Didnt think much of it, there was nothing in there (so i thought), until the next day i came back and ALL THE COPPER PIPES WERE RIPPED OUT.it was kind of a bad/turning better neighborhood, and i guess you can get some crack for selling all that copper...

. :) Most common & cost effective way to kill the deal without exposing yourself to liability (I am not a lawyer, check with a lawyer, etc), is just to play super duper unreasonable hardball right back.They counter that you are to fix the a/c with a contractor they pick, and want a $5k price reduction?

If he has a signed lease, I don't see how you can rent it to someone else while still under lease to him without exposing yourself to problems from both tenants, old and new, so carefully follow your landlord/tenant laws as you might need a signed release or follow non-payment of rent procedures.
