There should be no reason you wait with bated breath hoping someone doesn't pay so you can kick them out - you should already have the mechanisms in place to do it for the reasons you really care about if you need to.

All represented parties at the table (negotiations) must reach an agreement, and as you can imagine, one persons idea of "fair compensation/settlement" is not going to be what the paying side will likely agree with initially, so that creates a lot of back and forth in negotiations.Take a deep breath and good luck.
