This is pretty much my response for any complaint about anything that was well stated in the lease and the tenant has agreed to.   

According to the responses here, because a person carries a firearm, they are...* compensating for their small manhood (women carry too)* Afraid/scared* a “little man” (again, women carry too)* have a superiority complex* some other negative thingThe same things are said about people who drive big trucks.

Some can be passed on to tenants, while others are usually the owner's responsibility:1.

I made the point to the Buyer that this is how it was purposed. 

If a response feels weird, it's probably weird.

Making the tenant responsible for any maintenance is generally a bad idea.
