While I understand that, my understanding and what our own attorney has confirmed, is that there should be an individual who serves as the guarantor in this type of instance.

If you and your partner own the current property as tenants in common then that property is reported on your individual tax returns. 

You just have to learn the process and follow some  broad pieces of advice such as - don’t invest a lot in individual stocks because you are subject to much higher variances in performance.  

Is the building a single building with rooms for rent or individual units with separate entryways?
