My main concern about actual house hacking for a few years in a row is that we don't want the kiddos to have to change schools once we relocate up there.I'm thinking about getting an appreciation-oriented duplex/triplex in a pricier market with good schools that we could stay in for several years, and saving for an actual cashflow property that'd we buy as an investment property instead of a house hack.

If you strip it down too much, you can only earn a referral fee but not actually do any transactions.You have to talk to a few offices and see what they can do for you as an investor.

You should definitely talk to your CPA, which I am not, but...My understanding is that until you actually have a business, meaning a property in services, nothing can be deducted.

Right now this sounds like most of the HOA's that we all hate that issue random fines for no real reason, and then attempt to justify it with their bass ackwards logic that they are actually somehow doing us all a favor.I'm not a lawyer, but I would imagine you could also open yourself up to legal action.

DSCR loans are based off of down payment, credit score and either actual or market rents so it helps to supercharge an investor's real estate goals and net worth.

I would talk to a CPA because even if you could write it off, it's not like you are getting 100% back, so make sure it actually makes sense to do so.
