For years I watched late night info commercials and went to free seminars, but stopped there.Flash forward, walked into tax office and clerks office and asked how it worked...they answered a few questions and told me to come back anytime.So, for the next year and every year beyond I have been at the tax lien and some certificate sales.

An attorney holds a certification, so does a Realtor, so does a CPA, so does a government official or teacher, so does a general contractor.

Most are member of FIABCI (fiabci.org), the international real estate federation, or belong to national associations that are represented by ICREA and hold a TRC certification (worldproperties.com has all RE agents, check for TRC for international).

There are online classes available, but I want to get the benefit of networking.Boston University offers a Real Estate Studies certificate. $5k or so, not sure how reputable that would be.

@Tom Yung I agree it makes no sense to insure with aTax Cerificate in Fl, but.....could you even get insurance on a property with just a Tax Certificate?
