Are you deducting your water hose purchase for your personal  house?  

Lawnmower, hoses, yard tools, ladders, paint supplies, power tools, extension cords, garbage cans, .....  

Garden hoses may not be connected to bath or kitchen faucets.

Use steel braided hoses for the washer to reduce the risk of water damage.When you buy a place it comes with used appliances.

(I assume there is hose water, or a faucet in a utility room.)

As long as you are within one of the hose designated visitor areas you are fine and will never be bothered.

Then the hook ups can be some work to do well (and you will want to replace hoses/lines, clean the dryer vent, maybe test shut offs), so the less you have to do this the better.Plus, in my area appliance repair can easily be 50% the cost of a new appliance so getting a used one that might not have the same life span or require more repairs can be penny wise and pound foolish. 

Also, considering I am going to have to take the hose back to studs do I even bother at this point that the water is shut off?
