My guess is you are seeing mostly turn of the century properties available based on the price filter you are using. 

If you want to avoid turn of the century homes in Cleveland you can hit the suburbs.

What really grinds my gears, though, is the 3d printing advocates who make a case for their technology by bashing traditional wood-framed construction, saying it hasn't evolved in a century and making it seem like anyone who supports it is a Neanderthal.

If I find a turnkey home built in 2010 I'm going to use lower capex/repair numbers then if it were a turn of the century home.
