Just about every time a magazine has a "Top Ten Best Places to Live" article, Raleigh is mentioned.  

Just go to the D Magazine site and check out their "Best of" lists. 

Supposedly, it was featured in one of the modern home type magazines but I haven't bothered to find it on line.

I see it done on Houzz, and in magazines all the time, however; how practical is it?

The worst for my personality are the New Yorkers in FL because they come of so brash and it was culture shock.

It's funny- I have friends in NYC and the east coast, and every once in a while I completely shock them with the news that there is actually an entire country just to the west of them- and those people out there, they aren't New Yorkers!
