I am thinking since I want to continue my real estate journey if I should buy a duplex and just live in it and rent the other half out as opposed to buying a single family. can a single family home that you live in be considered an investment at all?

Lawton definitely has its reputation, and you're right about the single-industry concern and the high crime perception, which makes it counterintuitive for many investors.

I plan on splitting this land into two 1.5 acre lots as there is enough road frontage, but I'm concerned that someone could show up and want to start drilling in the backyard.I think someone wanting to drill is unlikely for the following reasons:- the original owners are probably dead and the ownership is split between inheritance to multiple people- the lot is too small for them to mess with- there is only a single active well/pump within 30 miles from what I can see online.

My boyfriend/fiance would never hurt a single soul unless you absolutely had to like life or death situations or he sees somebody hurting and innocent person or woman or defending someone he's not like that he never would be like that.
