Property in Easly is fixing 1 beam that supports a small porch and turning garage space into liveable area (sheetrock has already been applied by previous owner - looks like he was in process of that project idea)- we're keeping this one as a STR (any Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think there is a rule of thumb which says the beam depth in inches should be half whatever the beam length is in feet.
