My thought was to rent it as a mid term rental on Airbnb and vrbo etc because it’s in a desirable residential neighborhood walkable to schools and shopping. 

Certainly there are a lot more hoops to jump through disclosure wise and HR generally frowns on it fin some cases.Brokers at entrepreneurial shops (usually a local company that is privately owned or by a few partners) typically buy deals themselves a lot more.

I also run a business out of the property so need to continue to live in the house in order to be allowed to run the business out of the shop in the property. 

Shop around.If you have more than one financial account titled to the LLC, you can move funds freely between them. 

Open a clothes shop, open a coffee shop, make money on ebay, become a used car salesperson- there are many things that allow you to make money besides this.

Not a bad idea to shop around at a few spots.

I am American, but I moved outside the states a couple years ago, but I expect to start spending more time back in the PNW in the the next few years, and a stretch goal is to be able to accommodate friends and family when they visit, which should be increasingly frequent.

Best thing you can do is find an insurance broker that will shop each renewal to ensure you have the best coverage for the best cash flow.
