This is pretty much my response for any complaint about anything that was well stated in the lease and the tenant has agreed to.   

Some can be passed on to tenants, while others are usually the owner's responsibility:1.

Some landlords have requested cameras (they being responsible for setting those up if they want them) or already have cameras installed, but you want to make sure any prospective tenant is fully aware cameras are actively recording and it's clearly communicated to them.

Making the tenant responsible for any maintenance is generally a bad idea.

Obviously an unproportionate response to the potential risk of a shoot-out in the parking lot.Most people who ask the asset protection question have no assets to protect that are large enough to make them a viable target.
