I have seen this a lot when people change the location of thermostat’s.

You could do VRBO whose fees I don't think are as high as Airbnb but I haven't heard of health care workers looking there.I would put a limiting thermostat on the AC too.

Saves me the effort, and helps make sure the heat is on in the winter for me (other than if the thermostat is turned off, of course). 

If you are planning to pay for utilities I would plan on getting a nest thermostat or something similar to monitor HVAC.  

They seem to like the convenience of these additions; not to mention the energy savings with the thermostat.

Speak to MEP contractor to see what type of solutions they could offer, do you really need a system in every unit or can you combine via thermostats or other controls?

Auto-thermostats adjust the temp so your AC isn’t constantly running in between guests, your floor isnt getting constant wear and tear, people hardly ever use the appliances, I think it will be pretty easy to show down the road that the little bit of extra work it takes to get a property staged and up and running is more than worth it.

Also, buy nest or some other thermostat that auto turns off AC when tenants aren't there.
