Ramsey’s philosophy on life, money and real estate.

The vehicle for I will apply this niche is the buy and hold philosophy.

So I see the benefits of listening to and learning from people who may not have already achieved their success but that are on their way to doing so.I guess the purpose of this post is to take a look at when people share their philosophies of investing, to consider the person who is sharing that philosophy and ask your self - Do I want to adopt the same philosophy?  

.- Preferred return - as a personal philosophy, I would be very hesitant to invest into any deal where the GP group would earn significant equity even if the project produced me no return. 

In addition to whatever times I have met with a potential investor, I also go through what I call an interview, to get a clear understanding of their investment philosophy, criteria, risk tolerance, return expectations, and time window.  

It is the "be your own bank" philosophy which I have subscribed to.

This defeats the whole house hacking philosophy. 

@Jason Rostar -- It's not necessarily that the selling agent didn't do proper research, but might be that s/he is of the "start at the top end of the range" philosophy, OR one of the type of agents who give high estimates in order to get the listing, even though s/he knew it was unrealistic.  

I stand by the philosophy of my comments, even though the examples are erroneous.
