Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum so please be gentle.I've always had a fear about investments, mainly because you'd "lose" money now and won't see the profit until much later.

this particular one is an off market deal so my biggest fear,  that they see i just bought it for x amount and then try to sell right away for x +, doesn't apply in this case.I would want to buy this property at $290,000 and try to list for $360,000.This just doesn't seem like a very big spread and i would fear that it would sit on the market.

I think that coming from selling cars to real estate would be great for you, the issue that keeps most people from succeeding (fear, selling) you have most likely conquered.However, I would recommend that you put one year in doing both.  

I have decided not to do it because, even though I am fearful, I know I have the skills to do it on my own.

New landlords have a fear of the court system.

Recently I had a run-in with one of my worst fears a couple months back, i went to check my bank account to see how much money I had so that I could buy my mother and brother dinner.

I believe I read about an exemption for CPAs that allowed them to act in this manner without fear of UPL.

I had been interested in Real Estate for quite a while, however, fear stopped me from pursuing that avenue.I had resigned myself to the fact that I would never retire in my current situation, the more I heard myself say it the more I did not like it and decided to do something about it.

I think like most things in life, if you can overcome your apprehension and fear of trying it, get out of your own way, and give it a try - pretty much anything is possible.
