I hate that the city has turned to a dust bowl of its former glory but to be honest I don’t actually live there so I can disconnect from that without any real sentimental attachment.

So I am thinking about purchasing electric baseboard heaters for one of the apartments and disconnecting the heating ducts to that apartment.

I would disconnect it from GFH and reconnect. 

It does give me comfort to know that if he's in a pinch again, and doesn't get bailed out, that those kids will have a place to go.Oh, and we found out this weekend when we got rent that he just had cable installed a couple of weeks ago (we found out b/c the cable company disconnected the other tenants satellite dish when they did the install, and they had to pay $50 for the dish company to come out and fix it).Speechless.

Basically, it allows for easy transition of the account from owner to renter and back, however, ultimately the owner is responsible for any unpaid bills.  ...The problem with this arrangement happens when the tenant does the disconnect while still living there.

Hmmm I think I got bit by the "Preview" then forget to "Post" mental-disconnect again.

Such faucets should be made ready for winter by turning off the water supply to that faucet on the inside of the property, then any hose being used should be disconnected from the faucet and the faucet should be opened on the outside to drain the residual water that might be present in the pipes.

Our phone numbers are taken from public records and given that we are tracking homeowners in foreclosure it is likely that their phone numbers have changed (or been disconnected for non-payment).

I attempted to call again tonight and found that his his phone has been disconnected.

THAT is what is disconnected IMO.
