I completely remodeled the interior, repainted the exterior and fixed up the yard so that it added value to the surrounding houses.

I still have another $15-$25,000 left to spend on this house between a few more interior projects, but the bulk of that will be to either add a second driveway (or expand the existing one), and to either repaint or reside the whole house (it has the original masonite siding, its chipping all over.

If I paint a wall, it's painted, and a future owner does not need to keep repainting it to keep it that color.

Put on a paint base, repaint and finish 

Sometimes it's justified because of specialty workmanship (sometimes that's just what you're going to pay to use this guy--who eats lunch at the 7-11 everyday on a tight budget while you live in what he perceives as Luxury).If you screw through some custom plaster job, or custom paint job you may have to pay for the entire  room to be repainted.
