Our lease does say that pictures may be taken. it is awkward to be in the home, but the only way to make sure there aren't lease violations going on, only way to make sure there are no leaks or problems that the tenants aren't telling you about.

Unfortunately, it sounds like an awkward situation for you. 

I know this is all part of the job and I understand all the reasons people vacate but I'm still left with the awkward situation of having to make judgment calls.

Then, the relationship gets awkward.  

It just gets way too awkward. 

Unfortunately, this will make for a very awkward holiday season.

They were all friends of ours, but it was still awkward going into their space for laundry.
