A word of caution, the Village of VP does seem to have some type of aversion to residential development. 

And in the same escrow we sold part of it for 2.2 million to the Retirement development to the North of us called Hope Village..

When I bought it it was listed as a single family house (with two houses and three kitchens mind you) and the tiny village's lawyer said that the secondary unit(s) could not be rented out.

Between the villages and Ocala growing, it’s a solid place to put capital if you’re running out of time and can’t find deals in Orlando.

When researching what to own make sure you also research the short term rental laws that are new this year in the village.

Then tack on 25%So say you bought a property in East Village for $70K.

You could get into the Truman annex or even golf village and probably have less hassles with the home, but you would also lose a bit of charm.

If you're willing to consider other areas then you may be able to find something that works on the west side of the city around the pink line tracks in little village or nearby spots which would pretty much be c class areas

-if I want to feel local, only STR could provide that-if I want to visit a remote place, only STR could provide that-if I want to experience something,only STR could provide that-last time we stayed very remote that wild pigs is roaming around the doors, Hilton couldn't provide that lol :)-when I'm vacationing, to feel the local vibes I've to stay in STR only, even if I've to stay in the local village folks home.
