Looking back on your earlier projects, what were the biggest mistakes or lessons learned in securing funding or managing build costs?

The biggest lesson, which I learned early on: get clear on the type of property you want to buy, then tell everyone over and over again.

The best way to learn this is by reading a Tax Court case.  

We have a lot to learn, but are excited to begin our investment journey.

@Colin Ford recommend getting experience with your RI duplex before going OOS.You should DIY manage the unit next door, so you LEARN about property management, the goog, the bad and the ugly.Then you'll be so much better prepared to invest OOS!
