I'll take a guess: Ultra liberal rent control policies that don't allow rent increases that keep up with inflation + anti-landlord policies = Landlord not giving a **** about the place and not fixing things.It sounds like he wants you gone.

Largely, that's because we tell anyone with a brain they need to go to college - even if they end up $100K in debt for a liberal arts degree (philosophy/polisci for me....employers were beating down my door, man!)

I wouldn't feel comfortable taking this person to court for an eviction even if it is in violation of the lease terms as it would be too easy to get a liberal judge that ignores it, and says they are not behind on current rent do and its in their view a minor lease infraction.
