I still only have a small portfolio, but where I’ve been successful is house hacking in cash flowing areas (ie near colleges) and buying condominiums In neighborhoods that had potential for appreciation (ie jersey city).That said, my next investment will likely be out of state.

I have been looking for someone on Bigger Pockets with experience in Condominium Conversion,  to ask a simple question.  

Everett,Your description sounds a lot like canyon point condominiums in Roswell. 

Up to 1,000 apartment and condominium units are planned for the vicinity of the terminal, and the people who live there would have easy access to San Francisco — with no need to drive.

Land is 3.7 acres and has room to build a 5 unit condominium that was planned by the builders who originally built and still own this property. 

In Thailand in a condominium situation 49% of the units are freehold to foreigners meaning that 51% cannot be unless they are sold to Thais and in Phuket that is not the case, all or virtually all are sold to foreigners.

I know that this is going to sound really newbie-ish of me, but I an aspiring developer, I have a lot of knowledge of how to acquire for some residential and commercial properties, however as I said, I am an aspiring DEVELOPER, which means that I am looking at the BIG projects such as high rise condominiums, mixed-use , and other big commercial developments.

What are your thoughts on investing in condominiums as part of a buy and hold cashflow strategy?  

Currently I own mainly condominiums (Ewing, South Brunswick, Robbinsville, Lawrenceville) and one 4 unit building.
