IRS definition of a dependent.To claim a child as a dependent, the child must be under 19 or under 24 if a student.

Also, did you have any other loans (ie student loans, primary residence mortgage, etc) when you took on the $25k?

I certainly Do Not know it all and will never be able to learn enough even though I continue to be a student seeking knowledge always.
