Seriously, it's a trap.

The “New Client” Trap: Scammers will pretend to be potential clients and will carefully construct emails to try to steal sensitive information including your PTIN, EFIN, or CAF number.

That's the case in any segment but I think we tend to find it more offensive in Section 8 bc the government's paying.In any segment, I recommend checking social media and the like of all applicants. 

It just feels like a big trap.
