Look at median household incomes, look at market economy base and diversification, look at what's being done to protect and grow economic performance, just run the #'s and the message should be crystal clear.

If the economy is bad at that time, you just don't harvest and let them keep growing until the economy comes back. 

I wouldn’t purchase a STR property anywhere it wouldn’t work as a MTR or LTR unless its local economy is based on STR.

With that being said, and to be transparent, I have had a harder time finding investing partners on the last property I bought in La Fortuna which I think is related to the change in the economy.  

Yes, the entire greater economy as a whole affected by this, with this housing just one sub-part of it, would be another large contentious topic taking entire books... 

CA sun shines better, CA water tasts better, girls are prettier, bestest economy, just EVERYTHING in CA is better..... 

I expect the economy to recover quickly under new leadership.

If we are purchasing properties when the market is a highly appreciated seller’s market, we need to realize we may be in DUMB DEBT and should be prepared for the risk of suffering the consequences if and when the economy turns for the worst and goes into a recession as this will likely cause values to drop.
