Grew up in southeastern Kansas in the Flinthills and unlike western KS it’s lush and lots of rivers but I hate the humidity and chiggers.

It's green, lush, pristine natural lakes right in the city, tons of rivers everywhere, alpine hiking 30 min away, 70-75 degrees every day, snow capped peak views, beautiful walkable city, etc...

Dig holes bigger than you think you need and spend as much money on soil as you do the plant because it doesn't look like the yard is particularly lush and fertile.  

Nothing like a lush green front lawn and some color pops with pretty flowers.
