The one-piece fiberglass tub and surround in one of our rentals need to be replaced.

It runs into a 6mill visqueen, which is overlapping tartape....which is overlapping the edge of the fiberglass pan.

Also, fiberglass screening is much easier to work with than aluminum, though aluminum does tend to last longer.  

Is this an asphalt/fiberglass shingle?

If it is a small 34" insert fiberglass shower get rid of it!  

If that is the case you will need to frame a new wall to accommodate 6 1/2" of fiberglass or approximately 4" of sprayed foam.

Appraisers I network with says that vinyl and fiberglass pools will add about $5,000 and gunite will add about $15,000.  

The finish product will last a very long time, be water tight, and look far better than a fiberglass or acrylic surround.

It is not a fiberglass tub, but some type of through color polymer.
