But the rest of the stuff about "skill point allocation" remains true - bankers ubiquitously have "captive vendor" aka "do not compete" arrangements with their employers, so they aren't allowed to broker or send the business elsewhere even if they want to, and even if they are licensed, without (rarely granted) employer approval.

You also have a captive and infinite tenant pool with the students but there are city zoning ordinances that prohibit student occupancy in certain areas (This is designed to keep the frat-house away from grandma and grandpa Jones) it complicates things.

But they still get to shop the market, and aren't captive vendors to just one carrier's rates/policies/etc.Why I have a vested interest: If you go broke due to an insurance claim and having insufficient coverage, you probably can't take out any more mortgages.... cuz you're broke!

I highly recommend you find an independent insurance broker that isn't with one of the captives like State Farm, American Family, or Farmers, since they only have the one product to push on you.

The dumbest AE I've met is smarter than an average sales middle management banker person ("division vice president" or "area manager" or "emperor" or w/e) - they have to be, since they aren't asking you to sign a captive vendor agreement.
