Ideally, the plumber would either feed the camera in through the toilet or take the toilet off the flange and feed the camera down into the drainage hole until it reached whatever blockage there was.

Maybe if he can go from a downstream clean out and look up to see if there is a possibility of clearing the blockage, then you can try to get it lined....but I'm guessing you're going to be back to your original options to address this.

A cat is definitely less stressful, but not trouble free.Cat food left out overnight invites roaches into the house.This I did not experience, but a friend who is a fellow landlord did - a tenant flushed kitty litter down the toilet and caused a blockage in the drain.One time I had to replace a central AC system, tenant had the cat in a bedroom, with door closed.
