With the current language of the statute, after you exhaust Sec. 179 and 168(k), you cannot take them "again" in a future year unless that's part of whatever the new tax bill is going to be.

And because the PM is not a non-profit, they mark it up 20% and now you get a bill for $287 to change a light bulb.. seems unfair.

The big advantage is having the capital gains spread out over many years to avoid a huge tax bill.
