Anyone can use the term financial advisor to describe themselves and many of these advisors are not fiduciaries and instead of recommending products that are in your best interest, they recommend products that give them a large commission.

I largely agree with this and would say it's usually true but there are exceptions when it makes sense to do a spot repair.

If they put large nails or screws in the wall, then it's considered damage and I charge for it.
