Base - color should be something that fits in with the neighborhood, I am not for just blending in but I also don't want to stick out like a sore thumb.2.

A sturdy railing could be a suitable embellishment (nothing frail like cast iron filigree) add lighting, new house numbers and a nice mailbox.Keeping in mind the importance of the front door, it's curious why people always seem to want to highlight their garage door but it should really just blend in with the house and not get a lot more trim than a window. ie  Don't spend more money on it than necessary.

It isn't REI that is restrictive/limited in passive income...it's the market... and when that market is telling you "don't invest here" (which it sounds like it is), then you need to find a market somewhere else.3 things that every REI MUST understand, and be able to blend together are:1)  Market Analysis to find Where to invest.2)  How Money Works, to find How to invest3)  A REI Plan, to find What to investThe most common failures are brought about by the lack of true understanding of those 3 things, and how they relate to REI.

paint on the awning to make it blend with house and then like other suggestions, add a relaxed color to out line the house, windows, doors and skirt area of the awning to tie it all in.

I've been using "Wiskers" color code #531-4  any one can mix it, in any type of paint semi gloss, flat, eggshell, latex or enamel. its a grey tan color.. is amazing blends well with any tone carpet or wood floor and the white trim really is awesome.

Assuming that isn't an issue; these could be options:1)  Pay off 1 mortgage at a time by factoring in interest rate quantitatively and condition of property subjectively as a blend.
