I need to personally think of some strategies on how to sell these 2 pieces of land.2) The closing on our Chicago Rd, Dolton property has been postponed by 1 week because the money of the buyer did not get cleared by her bank due to the holidays (and because the buyer came in so late in the game, our attorney Kurt was not able to get the documents prepared in time).

I understand the grinding hard and using your income at a job that pays well compared to dancing around job to job until you find one you like and postponing your investment career though, just an odd “go to” now a days to blame everything on millennials like it’s a new concept to want to be happy at your day to day.

@John Chapman  I know I paint a broad brush.. but if your unlucky enough to get a house that settles 6 inchs because of soil shrinking.. then you have to deal with it.I have one left and god I hope I can get it off the books in the next 60 days.last one I sold while in escrow monster hail storm had to replace roof had to postpone sale had to pay deductible   all in all cost us about 4 to 5k ... and owner got a brand new stinkin roof.

If we assume we're looking at recession over the next year or two, the first thing to typically dry up is peoples discretionary budget so trips to Disney get postponed or cancelled altogether.Therefore, from a planning perspective, if the STR market dries up or slows WAY down like it is in other markets, it would seem to be to be an easier thing to potentially shift to long term rental for a year or two if you were renting out a 4 or 5 bed home, versus trying to LTR in a 10+ bed home.I'm just looking at this from a strategic perspective and trying to play this as smart as I can.

I would be happy to explain privately though.If you don't know how to use this type of loan correctly, all it will do is postpone a future problem, that you have not planned a solution for.
