The house needs everything: Roof, gutters, siding (asbestos shingles nailed over older cedar shingles), drainage abatement, rehabbed bath, total kitchen, replaced flooring (half), refinished flooring (other half), back steps, total landscape, HVAC (old furnace is missing), insulation (2" in attic; none elsewhere) additional electrical circuits, plumbing includes iron pipes, interior trim and paint.

Hoping to hook up with some other investors in the area, make some connections and nail down some (short-term, mid-term, long-term) real estate investing goals.

If they were nailing into asbestos siding it could be a problem as well.

For nailing down an area to start looking, these are probably good guidelines though. 

Haul lumber, pound nails, sweep and do all the junk that hired labor does.
