Going to Home Depot to price materials, and calling local contractors to get quotes on some of this stuff, is definitely your best option.

It's not my business model, but having anyone live outdoors like an animal in the USA when they hand out Section-8 to illegals upon arrival is a hard pill to swallow.They need to sort the homeless into short term vs. forever types.Steer the help to the short-term helpable when they need it, and publicly house the "more eccentric" types out in the county away from civilization.Maybe have a poor farm where they can plant gardens to feed themselves if they are able...something to keep them busy.It would give all of them someplace to live indoors at least.This street begging/tents on sidewalks thing is Un-American.Just my 2 cents

Refinished flooring myself with Home Depot sander I bought and then bartered into a deal where I bought a 40 foot Park Model RV that we rented on the property for $1,200/month at one point.

Now, I never ever go to one of my properties with the exception of when my wife forces me to see the vegetable gardens she works on almost every day.By not going to my apartments I have no personal contact with my tenants and this allows me to keep emotions out of my decisions when a tenant pays their rent late.

We liked the look of North End, however Veterans park and Areas of Garden city may look to be a little more within out budget and still very central as we heard both areas are improving. 

I like the TrafficMaster grip strip (Home Depot).  25 year residential warranty; one of my houses has had this in for at least 10 years and despite children and dogs still looks good. 

Which there may be a good reason for the permit but in that case I could have to hire a fully licensed contractor to buy insulation from home depot and put it in the walls!
