What people should and shouldn't spend money on in our 1st world economy is an endless rabbit hole. 50% of the planet lives on much less than what we would call "comfortable" yet they sustain.

If they did, they would have showed up at the house to make sure people didn't tear the place down (which is what it sounds like actually happened).No landlord on the planet would want a bunch of craigslist people roaming free in their house.

I'm greener than green to the business so hoping to make some connections and learn a few things.

Langer and he had no heirs and no succession so I ended up with the company :)  but I learned from one of the best lenders on the planet.. tough but fair..

You'll learn more by doing this for FREE than you could evern learn reading every crap-filled guru nonsense course and attending every guru seminar on the planet!

I am by no means implying that you should not look to invest elsewhere, but beware that "the grass is always greener on the other side."

I've got a pretty heavy construction/maintenance/project management background, and now have a day job in a real estate office.  30-odd years on the planet have taught me the value of preparation, and therefore, I would like to begin to work on 1-2 pro-formas/T-12's, and P&L's per week, to familiarize myself with the language, and learn how to spot a deal.
